Davison V Whincup - V8 Supercars Championship Series

Second Year: Will Davison lines up for his second year in the #6 Tradingpost FPR Ford, starting in Adelaide next weekend.

THEY’VE known one another since they were 12 years old in karting and now they’re both Bathurst champions and top-line contenders for the V8 Supercars Championship.

On V8Xtra this week, Neil Crompton sits down with reigning V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup and Tradingpost FPR Ford ace Will Davison to explore their unique relationship both on and off the circuit.

The pair slugged it out for the 2009 championship and now find themselves on opposite sides of the Holden and Ford fence.

It’s the perfect topic to explore as we lead into next weekend’s Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, where the duo engaged in an epic tussle in slippery and treacherous conditions in the Sunday race last year.

Matt White beams in with the latest in BigPond News Xtra – including an exclusive unveil of a team’s livery for the Clipsal 500 – while Neil also catches up with V8 Supercars CEO David Malone.

Walsh deal in Stone for new series - Warwick Daily News

IPSWICH'S Ash Walsh has inked a deal with Matt Stone Racing (MSR) to compete in the 2012 Dunlop V8 Supercar Series.

The series is the second tier of V8 Supercar racing in Australia, also known as the V8 Supercar Development Series.

Walsh spent the balance of 2011 evaluating his options after a split with Miles Racing in last year's development series, in what was then the Fujitsu series, but was never in doubt about his focus on re-entering the series.

My management group undertook an extensive review of all the options for 2012," the Yamanto racer said.
