Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University unveiled a new biodiesel production facility today spearheaded by graduate student Michelle Rodio.
The small outdoor facility and processing system is using waste from cooking oil obtained from the university's kitchens to make biodiesel.
A lawn mower, using 20 percent biodiesel, is being tested before the fuel is used in other university lawn mowers and tractors.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and demonstration was done in conjunction with Engineering Week at the university.
